When Idealism and Experience Meet
In Singapore in 2008, newly-minted MBA and former management consultant Jenny Santi began her career as a philanthropy advisor, when she was appointed Head of Philanthropy Services for the world’s largest wealth manager. A lifelong introvert, she soon came upon the startling realization that she had developed relationships with and the ability to convene the world’s leading changemakers – philanthropists, celebrity activists, nonprofit leaders and many other visionaries, all of whom were deeply motivated to do good. For many years she asked herself, How can I harness all this connectivity to make a real difference?
Meanwhile in New York City, another professional from a business and consulting background had come to realize that his life’s calling was to make use of wealth for social good. In 2002, legendary investor Sir John Templeton appointed Dr. Barnaby Marsh to direct the philanthropic strategies for his growing benefactions, which would reach over $6B globally. As part of his philanthropic strategy, Barnaby initiated a network of over 5000 high-net worth individuals, and advised many on launching new initiatives in communications, science, health, education, and market-based solutions.
Their separate paths merged in 2015 in a chance encounter in the Upper West Side of New York City. A series of animated discussions led them to discover the parallelisms in their careers and their shared vision, inspiring them to launch a new global philanthropy partnership. Drawing on their experiences in advising some of the world’s leading philanthropists, they now help their clients envision new philanthropic possibilities, and design activities, institutions, projects, and events that bring these visions to life.
